SAMPLE -- A Shepherd's Story
A old shepherd enters. He is carrying a staff and is guiding illusionary sheep up the lane. They approach an old stable.
"Come on, guys, hurry along now. there it is. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, does it? You’re right! Stay together. Be quiet, now and we’ll go in.
He goes in, guiding a few sheep. The door can be illusionary, but a few props may help. A bale of hay, maybe, a manger, a harness.
It smells just the same as it did thirty years ago. It’s a little older looking, but so am I!
What a miracle took place here. God became a man.
I used to bring my children to this stable at this time every year. But ... they grew older and went their ways. I guess no one wants to be a shepherd any more. Since they’re gone I’ve been bringing the newest of my flock to share these moments with me.
The Messiah was born in this very room, slept in that little manger and all you can do is eat the hay. Oh, well, I don’t think He minds...."
