SAMPLE -- Gold, Frankencense and Grrr!
The first of the Wise Men, Abner, comes out. He has thick glasses and peers everywhere, trying to see his way. He is carrying a map, which he holds very close to his face when studying it. After a few moments of frustration he calls back.
Abner -- Simon! Baldor! Simon! Baldor! Hurry up!
Simon and Baldor enter. Simon has a pillow strapped around him to cover his sore fanny. Baldor is extremely old! He has a cane and walks very slowly. During the entire skit Baldor has one set of directions. He is to walk from one side of the stage to the other, but at such a slow pace that it takes him the entire skit to cover the distance once!
Simon -- Ohh! How stupid!
Abner -- What?
Simon -- I knew I should have bought that new saddle before we left.
Baldor -- Told ya! Stupid kids. Never listen to their elders.
Simon -- I hurt in places I didn’t know I had! Oooo! (Sitting down) Ahhh!
Abner -- Nevermind that. We’ve got problems.
Simon -- What?
Abner -- I think we’re lost!
Simon -- Lost?
Baldor -- We’re not lost. Stupid kids.
Abner -- Either that or this map’s wrong.
Simon -- Isn’t that the map Herod gave you?
Abner -- Yes.
Simon -- Then it can’t be wrong. You’re just misreading it.
Abner -- I am not! I know how to read maps.
Simon -- Yeah, like you knew how to read compasses! You read it so well we were in Italy before you discovered your mistake!
Abner -- How was I suppose to know that my glasses had magnetic frames!
Simon -- By the time we finally get to see this kid he’ll be two years old! We were suppose to be there for his birth you know! Oooo, that hurts!
